What We Do.....

Bring About Change

The need for representation and engagement of successful African American women is imperative for the growth and development of young black women enrolled in California community colleges. A2WEND's dedicated focus is to increase the success of African American female students, while also preparing and developing these women for leadership roles in not only the community college system, but in the community as a whole. A2WEND is achieving more with our initiatives than ever before. We work on many exciting projects to help improve the lives of others, and are very proud of the progress we continue to make.

A2WEND supports the commission to prepare, educate, and develop African American females to meet the demand for educated fresh thinkers. We offer professional development, mentorship, networking, and scholarship opportunities to help create a more diverse community college system. Education
Helping the Student

With this initiative, it is the goal of the A2WEND members to promote opportunities for females in the California community college system. By ensuring access to educational resources, African American females have a greater chance of being successful; thereby, become empowered by their own abilities and gain the confidence, support, and education required to fulfill their potential. A2WEND conducts data driven research to locate additional programs/resources that will support African American females’ success rates.
