The need for representation and engagement of successful African American women is imperative for the growth and development of young black women enrolled in California community colleges. A2WEND's dedicated focus is to increase the success of African American female students, while also preparing and developing these women for leadership roles in not only the community college system, but in the community as a whole. A2WEND is achieving more with our initiatives than ever before. We work on many exciting projects to help improve the lives of others, and are very proud of the progress we continue to make.
A2WEND supports the commission to prepare, educate, and develop African American females to meet the demand for educated fresh thinkers. We offer professional development, mentorship, networking, and scholarship opportunities to help create a more diverse community college system.
